I have significant performance differences when using the Pagespeed API or the pagespeed web application. Screenshot attached. Can somebody tell me where these stark differences in score come from? Do I need to change any settings in the connector?

Hi Fabi,
It looks like you are using the old version of the PageSpeed connector. Google released a completely new version a while ago and this is probably why your results are off. I'm surprised it's still working, it should have been depreciated some time ago.
You can upgrade to the latest version via the Manager:
